Navigators and Adventurers Badges
Regardless of when a Trailman starts their journey, they all start out with earning their Recruit Trailman rank. From there they learn their core badges. In order to advance in rank, they will have to complete Elective Badges from any of the seven frontiers. Below is the Periodic Table of Ranks to help you see the journey.

The Electives Frontiers are as follows:
- Outdoor Skills
- Values
- Hobbies
- Science and Technology
- Sports and Fitness
- Life Skills
- Heritage
Although it may look like a daunting task to Acheive a rank, a lot of Trailmen realize after reviewing the requirements, that they have already achieved most of the requirements.
Here are a few examples:

A lot of our boys play sports and can’t always meet on our meeting night, however that experience they have playing on an organized Soccer team would help them finish off their Soccer Elective.
Some families in our troop hike and camp out on the trail. These activity miles and nights go toward your core badges and some outdoor skills electives. Have you ever tried an orienteering course? Have experience reading maps? Those skills can all go towards your badges.
Some of our boys are avid archers and do a lot of shooting sports. Do you have deep knowledge and experience in these shooting sports activities already? You could earn 5 badges just by showing our leaders your skills.
